Pre ISHW Stitching and Shopping!!

Hello my lovelies!!

I am happy to announce I just purchased a floor stand from Michael's with a 50% off coupon!!

WOOOOHOOOO!!!!!

My hubby is assembling it as I type!!!!

It's finished! Here's a quick photo.
This will make my stitching life, back, neck, arms, shoulders a lot easier and more comfortable for me!! Not only did I get the frame but I also got a bunch of DMC threads for a new Chatelaine I will be making!! It's a Knotgarden!! Check it out!
My hubby really likes this one so I will be stitching it for him, and well for me too!! I'm in the process of figuring out what fabby to use.  I might just use some antique white linen I bought last year for this piece or some other fabric I have around. I will still have to get a couple of specialty threads but that will have to wait awhile until I have saved up some cashola after my craft stand purchase.

Remember that Tiny Rose Garden Mandala I stitched awhile ago? Well I found a frame that was 40% off and so I figured why the heck not? Here it is all framed up. I'm not too pleased with the puckering that is happening between the mat and the back, but I'm not going to be fussy.  It's framed.  I'm happy :D
Pardon the reflection!
Not only did I get the craft stand, the frame, the DMC threads, I also bought myself a pair of 7 for all mankind jeans.  They were regular 245 and I got them for 60!! Nice score hey?!! I'm on a roll today!!!

Although I have a busy Saturday planned, I did manage to get some stitching done last night and this morning.  Here are some progress pics of Jane, which I will be working on tonight, trying out the new stand, and finishing my sister's small.  I may start on the Knotgarden, but we'll see how the weekend goes.
That yellow glow in the middle is not on the fabby, some weird light thing happening
I don't want to show you all the smalls I stitched for my RAK's (Random acts of Kindness to my lovelies) so they are partially covered up by my new DMC's.  Also, could you all send me your snail mail addresses via my email.  I may use them in the future!
Hee hee! Just a peek!!!

Oooh, annnnddddd the other day while my hubby and I took a walk, we decided to check out a church's thrift shop and I found some old school Cross Stitch magazines for a donation! Score!!!!

Ooh, I feel a bit hyper after I drank a whole cup of Pure Chai tea from David's! YUMMM!!! Speaking of YUM, I made a most delicious soup courtesy of Joyce, Creator of ISHW and best pen pal gal! It's called Assam Laska and it's a Malaysian soup!! Oh it was good!!! Thanks honey for the soup!!!

Super spicy, and sweet at the same time! LOVE!!

Okay, happy hermitting everyone! Can't wait to see everyone's progress pics on Monday!

Hugs to all!!!

Wow, you've been busy Anne. Love the stand. I have one too. I tried it out with my scroll frames, and it didn't hold them up very well. I was complaining on a group recently that I want to buy one I can use with my Q snaps, and someone posted a link to that one. And I got all excited because I had one at one time. I went through and found it, with all it's parts, whoo hoo!!! I was so happy with it. I hope you love yours just as much. I could do without the soup. I don't do spicy well. Firstly, my taste buds can't tolerate a lot of spice, and secondly, I get bad heartburn from it. It looks good though. Grats on all the purchases, and I hope you get to use your DMC very soon!!! (You CAN start your Chat if you don't have all the colors, right???) Sorry, I shouldn't enable you like that... Enjoy!!

I use a Lowery stand and consider it one of my best buys. Wishing you a good weekend.

I hope you like your new stand. I have wondered about those but never tried one. I love those Chat. designs, but have never stitched one. They are really gorgeous. Good luck with that and all the other things you've got going.

Thanks for visiting my blog and your nice comments.
Hope you get some Hermit time in!

Nice floor stand! Nice framing job too! Great scores all around -- that's quite a sale on those jeans! And your Jane. Ahhhhh, it's making me want to get mine and start stitching. Sooooooo pretty!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! I love the knot garden. I bought a wood lap frame to hold my qsnaps last week, I do mostly small projects. This immediately alleviated my wrist, hand and finger pain. :)

Love your new stand! That will really be a help for your back. No more hunching over your fabric!
Your Chatelaine is beautiful! Love the new choice too.I'm not sure that I'd ever want to attempt one.

Great finds on those magazines and the jeans! The cover piece of the magazine in the center was one of the first stitches I ever did. It's framed and hanging in my rec room.
I can't believe how much my tastes have changed since then!

Thanks for introducing me to the David's Teas. I found a store in Ottawa and finally got some of that Pumpkin Chai. Then my son gave me some of the Mint Chocolate Rooibos for Christmas. Delish!!

What great buys you got, Anne! Not sure which is more exciting--the great price you got on those jeans or that floor stand :) That will certainly make your life much easier with those giant WIPs of yours! I can't even imagine stitching something that large!

Your frame works perfectly with that finish--another great find! Can I take you shopping with me :)

Yay on getting a floor stand! And what a deal on those jeans! I never find deals like that!

Have fun stitching this IHSW! Looks like you have a lot to choose from. Love the progress and Jane and Knotgarden is one of my favorite Chats too.

Yummy soup! I want some!

Happy weekend!

You're right, stitching with a floor stand is so much better! Can't wait your progress on the Chatelaine!

You got a floor stand. Yays! I'm happy for you. I'm still hoping to have one someday.

Jane's coming along beautifully. That's a lovely Chatelaine project you've picked. Look forward to seeing its progress.

Ah... I see you have tasted Asam Laksa. It's one of my favourite dishes. Did you know it has been voted No7 under CNNGo International Food Survey as “foods worth traveling the world to gorge on”? ^.^

Hugs,
Veronica.

No, YOU'RE the best pen pal ever!!! Hehehehe.

OOOOOOOOH, LOOK AT YOUR STAND!!!!!! How much do you love it? :D

You bought jeans!!!!!!! I thought you were going to wait.... although with that kinda discount, you were wise to have bought it. :D PICTURE! :D

KG... serious????? AWESOME!! I can't wait to see!!! Ooooooooooh, I'm so excited I could p.... nvm.... ROFLMAO!!!

Tiny Rose looks amazing, Annie. What do you mean the puckering between the mat and the back... you mean it's at the back where you can't see? Where are you displaying it? :D

Oooooh, now I'm hungry seeing your bowl of assam laksa. ;)

Congrats on your new stitching stand, and the thrift store score. :)

Your stitching looks great. Very unique way of teasing us with your RAK's. I like it! On your rose garden finish, how did you mount the stitched piece?

Oooooh let me know how you like the floor stand. I've always contemplated getting one but I'm afraid to spend too much money.

Knotgarden is going to look beautiful - can't wait to see you work on it!

Also, I LOVE designer jeans and when you can get a deal on them. I recently bought some $250 Kunna jeans for $60. Obviously I had to get two pairs...

How do you like your floor stand after using it for awhile, Anne? I'd love to get one! I bought a lap stand but it didn't seem to be the right height and made my shoulders store to use it.
