Good News!

The strike has ended and we are back to work!!

Yippeeee!!!

The deal is a bit crappy but it's a step in the right direction.  I won't go into details, but the government still can't seem to fund public education but can find the funds for ridiculous projects and roofs that cost 500 million dollars.  Sigh.  Oh well.

Back to work I go....feeling happy yet stressed too.  The new position I have is a bit daunting and there are a million and one things to do.  So I need to prioritize.  There are only so many hours in the day and I can only do what I can do!

Stitching will now be taking a bit more of a back seat.  I will try to find the time to stitch in the evenings and weekends.

I did manage to get some stitches into the Sheep virtue "Love".  I should be able to finish it tonight.  Kaye from Kitten Stitching is also joining us in stitching the virtues.  She was so sweet to offer the charts to me but Ann already did! Dear Mouse too offered charts, bits and bobs, and Mel from Wooley Thoughts offered to help me out in the stash department.  I sincerely thank you all for offering me all sorts of things during that most stressful time and to all of my readers who have supported me too.  I'm very blessed to have such lovely stitching friends from around the world.  Once I get my feet steady on the ground and my head wrapped around my new part of the job, I will be hosting a giveaway, but most likely in the form of gift cards....takes me less time!!

Oh pictures...almost forgot!

Silly Titus "hiding" under my dresser....playing hide and go seek but I found him!! Such a silly furball.

Hugs to you all!!

Anne

Back to work! I think I'm safe in saying that the US government tops the list for ridiculous, reckless, unsupervised spending for pork projects, and also for its employees that are useless!

So happy that you are finally back to work! If I am working you should be too....lol. Seriously, I am sure this is a big load off your shoulders. Take it one day at a time....but do try to find the time to relax and stitch.

I'm so glad the strike is over! Too bad the government can't get its act together, but at least you're back to work. Hope the new job is great and you get over the stress of figuring everything out quickly. Love your Sheep Virtues so far! Hugs to Titus!

Anne, as I type this, you must be readying for first day! I am sure it will be an exciting, tiring but also happy week! Titus will miss having you around so much.

Congrats on finding and end to the strike. Yeah we got totally crappy collective agreements a few years ago... seems to be the trend in Education. I lost quite a bit in the last one (sick days, etc).

Stitching is looking great!

Great to hear you are back to work! Your "love" WIP is really cute. Who is the designer? Titus is dashing, even hiding under a dresser!

Great progress! And your cat is sooo gorgeous. Great thing the strike is over now. You just have to think it is a step for the better, and hopefully now that the economy is improving (lets hope the government is correct about that) it will only get better.

Yaaaay! New responsibilities are just a new adventure so things should work out barring any giant mountains or bicycles that find tipping over is fun. :B Good luck, and look forward to the weekends!

So pleased that you are back at work again, such a relief financially even if it's not the best deal.
You must have sent the strike over here though because the Large Boy's school has just announced "pyramid" strikes, one day in week 1, two in week 2 and 3 in week 3. It's one of the smaller unions so maybe he won't be affected.
It's all over performance related pay this time.

I'm so glad to read that the strike is over. Glad for you and all the teachers and glad for the kids.
I think your government is not the only one that always find lots and lots of money to finance ridiculous things. BUt at least for this time they saw where the priority is.
