Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Hello to all of my lovely stitchy friends!

I have missed everyone here and have lots to update you all with.  I'll make it a short post though since I have limited time with a busy toddler. We ended up moving from Vancouver to my old hometown, Prince George! The decision was a hard one since we really loved where we lived and made close friendships with the parents in the neighbourhood. But we felt since Vancouver was becoming more and more expensive, that we had to make a move before Nathanael was of school age.

So far it's been a good decision.  I have a new full time job which keeps me busy.  I get home by 4 pm now instead of 6 or 7 pm.  I don't spend 3 hours of commuting to and from work....it's about 20 minutes in total! Huge difference in quality of life.  We still don't have a vehicle but we are working on that.  My family is so happy to have us here and we have been doing all sorts of family gatherings and outings in PG.  Our house is nice too.  We are renting right now.  We may buy in the future, which is more realistic here than in Vancouver.  There's definitely things I will miss in the big city but not the crowds or the commutes, that's for sure.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Oh, and I've been stitching my son a little Prairie Schooler ornament.  No picture yet but I'm eager to get it done for our January 7th Christmas....I still have time!

Hope you enjoyed the update!!!

Hugs

Anne

Anne you won't believe this but you popped into my mind yesterday and I wondered how you were doing. Your son is just adorable! I'm glad you moved and are happier - commuting can be a life killer and with a small child - it's just more time out of your life cycle - I'm glad you made the move. I hope you and your DH are doing well. - glad you are stitching - did you keep up your crochet? I'm actually starting a crocheted shawl that has been very popular on Ravelry. It's called Hourglass - take a look - very pretty - guess maybe that's why I thought of you! Merry Christmas , come back again soon

Wonderful seeing you Anne! I'm so glad life is going well for you. plus I am so happy you put in the photos. Nathaniel is such a handsome little boy!! Seattle is just like Vancouver. I'm so glad we chose to live across the Sound. The city is just so busy. Plus, I bet your family is so happy to have you closer. I think that is so good for children. Best of luck in your new home!!!

A two hour commute had to be so very hard! I'm glad you're in a place that allows you the maximum time with your precious little one. A better quality of family life is so worth making such a big change. I'm looking forward to seeing your ornament!

Always lovely to see a post from you! The commute was one reason why I didn't go back to work when my son was born. A 7 hour working day became 10 hours away from him.
Your son is so sweet and growing up so quickly too! I bet the family love having you close by and you can show him all the places you grew up too.

So good to read your post and get caught up with you, Anne! I get brief glimpses of your life through IG, but there is nothing like a blog post for filling in the gaps :)

Sounds like the move was the right decision and you will make new good friends in no time. To be so close to family and have a short commute is worth so much. My sister can now walk to her job (she is also a teacher) and is saving 2 hours a day now. She so enjoys her newly found "me" time!.

Nathanael is just so darling and I always smile when I see photos of him on IG. Still waiting for a grandchild (quite impatiently!) here... But, my oldest did get married in October so maybe I won't have to wait too, too long :)

Happy New Year and keep on stitching!

So Happy to hear that the move has been so good for you and your family. Enjoy the time with your son while he is little - before you know it, he will be thirty, married and living in Brunei! lol!
