Hello everyone! (a wee bit of a boring post...sorry!)
It's been ages since I've updated my blog. Only two more weeks left before the Christmas break and I'm really looking forward to it. How it got to December 9th, I'll never know. December always creeps up on me then I start to feel the panic when I realize how close we are to Christmas. I've been catching up on blog reading which is great because you are all getting me into the Christmas spirit. So many wonderful posts with people's Christmas stitching and trees makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, which is a good thing because it's cold here! Freezing in fact! I wish I could share all the stitching/finishing I have been doing but since it was for my giveaway winners and an exchange, I can't. Meari and I are doing a mailart exchange. I had so much fun putting it together and can't wait to show it!!
As of late, I have been on a crochet kick and have been steadily working on my granny square afghan. It got a little wonky in the middle but after researching why, I figured out how to fix the problem. I don't mind it being wonky since it's my first one and we all learn from our mistakes. It really bothered me at first but I think that after it's complete, it won't be so noticeable. The other night I made a cute little mug cozy and fixed it with a button. I think I'll whip up more of these since it was so fast to create.
I did start the Magic Garden by Shakespeare's Peddlar a few months ago and just picked it up last night. It's slow going on 40 count fabric and I feel weird stitching something unseasonal right now! I should be making Christmas gifts!!
Very little progress on the chicken...reports and giveaway gifts got in the way of finishing this handsome fella
Today my hubby and I went for a winter walk down to the quay. We saw a murder of crows in the trees and I took a lot of cool photos. Too bad I didn't have a good zoom lens to get great close ups.
Of course I had to take photos of my favourite logs sticking out of the river. I love the mirrored images on the still water.
Tugboat...
Pretty ornaments in trees
Cute Christmas tree in the Quay
We still need to put up our tree. I am hoping to do it tonight if hubby will be up to getting it out of storage. He's still not all that well. Loads of appointments in our future. Let's just hope for some answers soon.
Thank you for all your comments on Hannah. I feel somehow lost a bit without a sampler to work on. I have two other big WIP's (Tea bath fairy and Knotgarden) that I should finish before anything else, but I am too addicted to samplers. My husband is getting worried about my addiction...lol! He should be worried since I have many more I want to stitch up!!
Take care everyone!
Hugs

First off, I hope your DH is feeling better really soon, and that you get some answers. That is worrisome. :( Titus is a cutie! Love seeing the pics from your winter walk. And your stitching is lovely! I have to look that SP piece up -- I don't remember that one. The granny blanket -- I like the wonkiness! You know, it gives that effect of the cool square going whiz around and around. :D Cool!
Like Margaret, I hope your husband is feeling better soon! Loved reading your post, seeing your projects and lovely walk photos!
Oh I do hope that you learn whats wrong with your husband and hope he feeling better soon. Your afghan is beautiful and what a darling cozy for your mug. Its fun to get to stitch on whats calling to you even though you have some other wips in the waiting. Happy Holidays.
love Annette
Sending good wishes to the hubby. Once again, we also might be going down the test path for my Mr H so I know the worry. Thank you for taking me on the walk. We are having cold weather here too in Arizona....I hate when I need to wear a sweater!
Continuing to pray for your husband my friend. Congratulations on getting so far on the afghan! I started one last year ... a Granny Stripe ... & need to start working on it again in the new year. The mug cozy is cute! Glad to see you doing some stitching! Those crows are really cool! The coolest thing, though, is your weather! For me it would be like I died & went to heaven : ) Titus looks nice & warm : )
Hey Anne!
I am feeling the same way about the holidays, they are just rushing by an will be over before we know it. I have been keeping you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers.
Your crocheting is lovely.
Such amazing pics. My favorite is the tug.
Hugs to you and Titus!
Sorry to hear that your hubby is still suffering. I hope the doctors can do something for him, you're right when you say that you have to be aggressive and demand answers, but it's so hard.
Love your crochet mug cozy, I think I'll have to try to make one of these too - wouldn't they make super Christmas gifts?!! (for next year though...I'm not quick at crocheting!)Your blanket is looking great too.
Lol yeah it feels odd not stitching xmas stuff but unless its really small there's no time left!!!
Hi Anne! I am praying for Lee. I am sorry he suffers so.
You have certainly been keeping busy with your lovely projects.
I've read about the cold wave that has seized parts of Canada and the US. And there are partly temperatures I don't want to imagine in my wildest dreams, lol. I hope that the cold will soon let you go. But it was so nice to see all the great pictures of your walk in the snow. Thanks for sharing.
Nice progress on your two WIPs. I'm very curious to see your next sampler. Yes, sampler stitching is addictive, lol.
I send my best wishes and thoughts to your husband and hopefully the doctors will soon be able to help him.
Beautiful crochet work! That mug cozy is too cute, and I don't think your granny square blanket is noticeably wonky. Maybe it's the angle of the picture. Love your new header! :D
Hi Anne--Hope your hubby finds out what is wrong and has a complete recovery soon. I love all your crochet work, and Shakespeare's Garden looks lovely! Enjoyed looking around at the scenery on your walk!
Baby, it's hot outside!! Well here in West Aus it is anyway.... but not where you are by the sounds of it.... :o)
Sorry to hear that hubby is still not well - I do hope that you manage to sort out what is going on soon :o( Sending lots of happy positive thoughts to you both
Well done on starting to crochet. There will be no stopping you now! Your Teabath Fairy and Knotgarden must come out and say hello soon.. I miss them especially your Teabath Fairy :o)

Thank you for sharing the beautiful photos of your walk.
Sending well wishes to your DH!
I lost count of my wips, some are in cold storage for a long time ha ha!
Hugs,
sure hope there is answers for your DH's illness. All you can do is pray and count your blessings. Enjoyed seeing all your photos - I hope you have a good Christmas and take it easy on yourself - it the tree doesn't get unpacked - oh well - just enjoy your other beautiful things you can display. Cheers and hugs too Melody
Hello, sweet Anne! You are such a busy girl I don't know how you manage to fit in any crafting time... I'll bet the crocheting works up quicker than stitching doesn't it? It's nice to see some progress to keep us motivated. I think that is why I tend to stitch mostly smalls.
Love your photos--you really do a wonderful job... The "murder" of crows is such a great name for a group--the best around!!
Our tree is up and lit, but not fully decorated... May not get to it until Sunday. I think everyone is feeling very behind this year...
Please know you and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers--best of luck at the doctors appointments coming up.
Sorry to hear hubby is still poorly :-(
The photos are great though and I'm glad you're enjoying your sampler stitching. I wonder if there is a particular group of stitchers encouraging you? LOL
Wonderful post Anne and beautiful photos.
Love your crocheting and stitching.
Sorry to hear your DH is still not right, hope the doctors get to the bottom of it soon.
All your projects are looking lovely, great progress and your photos are great
