Hello everyone!
I promised a post dedicated to stitching, so here it is. With the world as it is, in turmoil, and our provincial government piercing the hearts of teachers, I try to find a bit of solace in stitching. Although I have enough BAP's to work on, I started a new design I had kitted up some time ago. Also, I added some finishing touches to my pillow finishes and worked on JCS 1707 since it was calling to be stitched. Funny how some projects are like that...calling from my WIP pile: "Work on me! Work on me!!" So without further ado, enjoy a smattering of stitchy photos.
Did I title the post "Purely About Stitching?" Yes I did, but forgive me for I just have to show you these lovely photos of some late summer flowers, two of my favourite people (my mom, dad, sister and brother are too!), and my fluffball.
Some things are on my mind that I feel I need to say. My blogoversary is coming up September 12th and I wanted to do a giveaway. However, with the strike as it is, I cannot afford to send anything right now. All of my husband's pay chq is going to rent, food and bills. That's it. Nothing left for anything else. When the strike has ended, and we get a contract, I thought about celebrating with a giveaway then. How about that? I've so enjoyed blogging over the past 4 years and getting to know so many of you. Our little blogging community provides us the opportunity to stitch together worldwide, share our passion for crafts, and best of all, supporting each other through the good and bad times in our lives. I thank each and everyone of you who have sent me an encouraging word, prayer, good thought through everything in my life, whether it be stitching related or not. It's a great solace to know people care and have big hearts, particularly when the world looks so bleak. Please accept my deepest gratitude for you, especially those who take time out of their day to comment and to those who enjoy reading my posts.
Hug to you all
Anne

Titus is just gorgeous! Hug and kiss him for me too!
As per your stitching - just amazing!
Each piece is just looking fabulous!
Love this post!
Happy weekend!
Great array of stitching. Plenty to keep you busy while you wait out the strike. Hope it ends soon. Getting ridiculous, huh?
Enjoy the weekend!
Love love love all your stitching! Love the pics too -- you are a good photographer! Giveaways are nice, but much more important is being able to enjoy your blog. Don't worry about giveaways. I just hope the strike is resolved, and in a good way too. Hang in there. Let Titus give you some snuggles. Your hubby too. lol!
Happy Blogaversiary Anne. You started on my wedding anniversary. LOL Love all your stitching projects.
Linda
HI Anne, dear, sorry I have not been on blogger much lately. Can you please fill me in on the strike? That must be such a worry for you. I used to be a teacher as you know, so I know how hard teachers work and how undervalued and underpaid teachers are. Keep fighting the good fight!
P.S. Happy Blogaversary.
Your blog posts are always a joy to read Anne, you are so natural in what you say. I hope that things resolve soon at school, your system is so very different from over here in Scotland. Titus has such beautiful eyes, he's a gorgeous fellow.
Hi, Anne,
Great stitchy finishes! I especially love the bird pillow. Your dahlias are so pretty, I tried them for the first time this year and didn't do so well. I'm trying to decide whether it is worth the trouble to save the tubers. Don't worry about having a giveaway, just reading your blog is reward enough! Melinda
Anne, don't worry about the giveaway. People will understand. It's not always about "things". Congrats on your blogoversary coming up!
Lovely stitching - it's great to have that as a bit of a stress reliever. I won't say another word about the strike.
Titus is such a photogenic cat and He Knows It! He's got very soulful looks!
Wonderful family and kitty photos! All your projects look wonderful. Congratulations on the finishes. For the sake of you and your students, I hope this strike ends soon.
What great stitching! Happy almost blogoversary. Reading your interesting blog posts and seeing your stitching updates are what matter. Giveaways can be fun, but they're not what keeps us coming back! Thanks for all you share, and hang in there.
Beautiful stitching! Your finishing is so lovely. Love that you are working on Tea Bath Fairy cup:)
Early Happy 4 yrs Blog Anniversary!
It's not about giveaways. It's for us to get to see what you have been stitching and your wonderful posts, and to cheer you on:) Thank goodness for stitching - totally helps us relax! love Annette
Lots of lovely stitching. I hope your job situation resolves itself soon. Congrats on 4 years of blogging.
Don't worry about giveaways. Your lovely posts are a gift to us all!! :)
Hope the strike ends soon and things improve for you. Education should be a priority for all governments, and teachers should receive excellent treatment if we all wish to have a future... Why is it never the case? When will politicians learn!!!
Wonderful stitching Anne, look forward to see your progresses on the fairy cup :)
Great photos too, thank you for sharing
Happy blogoversary dear
I love all your stitching projects so much ..they all do beautiful
Sweet hugs x
Beautiful stitching and finishing, Anne! Don't worry about your blogoversary - we all love you and we know you're going through a difficult time. Big hugs!
I am still praying for your work.
Whose beautiful,pink dahlias?
Titus! Those eyes always amaze me. :)
Your stitching is just lovely.
Titus eyes are so blue, just love them.
Sorry about the tuff times with the job. Things always seem to work out. We don't blog for the giveaway, we blog to get to know each other.
Take Care!
Hello Anne
I hope this strike ends soon for you.
Your stitching is beautiful, every bit of it.
Lovely Titus, he's gorgeous.
Don't worry about giveaways, just keep on blogging!
Wishing you a peaceful weekend (:
I'm so sorry to read that the strike just keeps going on and on, Anne. I need to get online and read more about it as I don't really understand all of the issues up there in BC.
So good to know you have your stitching to help ease your stress--I love the O Birdy pillow so much. I framed mine, but I think of you each time I look at it :) It's nice that we both stitched from the same chart...
I hope you can get in a nice relaxing bike ride or hike this weekend to further ease your stress... Praying the strike is over soon, my friend!
Your stitching is just beautiful!
I'm so sorry to hear you've been affected by the strikes! Its so sad that education is really taking the brunt of the funding cuts across Canada! I hope that you get a new contract soon and you can get the school year going!
Congrats on your upcoming blogiversary!
Happy Blogversary early! Hard to believe it's been four years already. I know I'm glad to have "met" you :)
Thanks for sharing your stitchy goodness and your favorite people. Of course, Titus, too. What's a post without him, right? Right!
A lovely stitchy post,great photos:-)
I,too,am hoping that the strike is resolved soon and you can return to your vocation.
Love all your stitching projects. Happy Blogversary Anne!
So sorry to hear you're still on strike, Anne. Don't worry about having a giveaway--like so many have said, that's not what keeps your readers coming back time and again. Titus is very handsome, as usual. Love all of your photos! Out of your WIPs I especially like The Bitterest Flower--haven't seen that chart before.
Sorry to hear that the strike is still in progress,it must be so hard for everyone involved. Fingers crossed it will end soon.
Lovely stitching and finishing....as always! :)
Please don't feel pressured into doing a giveaway, we all come to see your work (and Titus!) not what you're giving away.
So glad DH has a job and you have enough stash to keep you occupied - I hope the strike ends soon so you can splurge on the extras again. I love that pillow, but all your stitching is looking good!
Such pretty finishes and WIP's you've been working on Anne.
It's sad to read you are still on strike, I hope it wont be too long before all is well for you again.
Gorgeoud dahlias and such a sweet little furface pic!
Happy early blogaversary!! Don't worry about giveaways, just look after yourself. I hope the strike stops and everything goes back to normality for you. Obviously things are different here in UK but it seems that strike has been going on for quite a while now... Big hugs to you and keep on stitching! Your finishes are just fabulous xoxo
First of all I love all of your stitchy finishes! Happy Blogoversary and I'm so sorry you are still out on strike. I can only imagine how difficult it is and I hope there will be some kind of a deal made soon.
Lovely stitching and finishing too. JCS is looking great. I love all the green on the bottom left.
I think you should have a giveaway for your Blogaversary (congratulations) but with the proviso that the winner collects it in person and take you out to lunch!
Wonderful stitching. Love the O Birdy finish. Happy Blogaversary for the 12th.
Hi Anne - Glad to see all your beautiful stitching - so glad to see JCS is calling out to you. So pretty. I'm sorry your strike is lingering and no resolution is forthcoming. Gees - what a mess! Don't worry about any giveaway - just focus - Remain Calm and Stitch On ! Promise me - If you need anything at all - threads - a piece of linen a new chart or project - please email me and I'll send it to you. Consider it a loan if you must. We have to help each other thru bad times and I would truly love to help you if I could. Hugs Mel
It's such a sad thing that education plays such a minor role for governments worldwide when it comes to paying money for it. I hope that you will soon get a new contract and can get back to teaching.
Your stitching and finishing is looking so gorgeous. Two nice little pillows and a wonderful new start. Enjoy your new project.
What beautiful stitching finishes and happy blogaversary. Cheers to you!
Gorgeous finishes and great progress on your other projects.
{{{Hugs}}} I hope the strike is resolved soon.
Very beautiful stitching. The Tea Cup looks like soooooooo much work. All_that_filling_in! Always love a peek of Titus with his pretty blue eyes as well. :)
Happy Blogaversary! Your stitching is beautiful. I enjoy seeing your favorite people and Titus too.
Happy blogiversary Anne! You don't need to worry about a giveaway. Life is so crazy that I think I have missed the last 3-4. I should do something next year tho since its 10 years. I absolutely love your LaDDa finish...it's fantastic! And your wips look great. You know how much I like seeing the tea cup fairy! :) Say hi to Titus...seeing his picture always makes me smile.
